After a very productive weekend, our new office is almost ready! Thanks to hubby, the new Ikea shelves are up and I’m sitting at my awesome new desk now and loving it. Just a few minor tweaks and details, they you’ll be treated to about 8,000 pictures of it. :-)
After an awfully cold and rainy weekend last week, it was hot and sunny this weekend. Poor Leela was feeling it after a long walk today.
The cats wanted nothing to do with the heat parking their lazy butts on our bed all day.
Rough life.
Problem is today is sheet washing day. Not wanting to disturb their comfort, I tried to coax them off with a catnip toy. Oh no, they just played with it on the bed.
I finally gave up and relocated them to the couch and ripped off the sheets in the 5 second window I had before they returned. The things I go through to keep the cats happy. :-P
Today my mom and I finally made it back to Sugar Plum Vegan for lunch, one of my favorite places that I wish I could get to more. Or maybe not since I’d probably be a few pounds heavier with so much amazing vegan food! Today we discovered they have an all-you-can-eat vegan brunch on Sundays for $12 and I got my money’s worth sampling almost everything! Biscuits, chocolate chip muffins, fresh fruit, wonderful salad, marinated grapefruit, tempeh bacon, spicy tofu scramble, potatoes, and oh my!
The biscuit and chocolate chip muffins were wonderful, probably because I haven’t had anything like that in ages not being much of a vegan baker yet. And the veggie-loaded, spicy tofu scramble was fabulous with a hearty texture and perfect amount of kick.
A side of salad of course. :-) I didn’t make it to the pancakes, I was just too full!
It’s a fun place to visit in an old, Victorian house with a cute vegan shop upstairs and gorgeous eating patios in the front and back.
But after such a rich and filling lunch, all I could take for dinner was a huge salad with maybe a hemp fudge ball or two for dessert. :-)
Good news, the Raw Food Health Expo is back this year, click here for details. Last year I fully enjoyed it, lots of great information and motivational speakers. It’s worth traveling too if you’re into raw with so many great sessions, products, demonstrations, and meeting other raw foodies.
Also, don’t forget to enter the tempeh giveaway!

Mmmmm! Going to Sugar Plum is at the top of my list. It has been in the back of my mind for a few weeks now. I must go SOON! :D Last Friday, I went to Sunflower Cafe in Fair Oaks and the Nut burger was so good! I’ve lived in the Sacramento area for 3 years now and thought I could only find these types of restaurants in the bay area so now I’m liking it here even more!
The warmer weather has been so lovely! I finally put my strawberries in the ground yesterday. They’ve been in the pony packs a little too long! My tomatoes got in the ground a few weeks ago and I can see so many budding little tomatoes!

Yum, I’ve gotta get to the Sunflower Cafe soon! I’m so glad we’re starting to see more vegan places in Sacramento, Green Boheme is another great place:

I’ve also heard South Sac has a Loving Hut which I must investigate. :-)
So true on the warmer weather, much better after last weekend and I was finally able to catch up on a little gardening.
