What a day, this has to be the longest short week ever! It’s been so crazy at work and it doesn’t help that I’m on call this week and woke up to a blaring cellphone too early this morning. What helped was coming home to these gorgeous flowers my sweet hubby picked up for me.
Sunflowers are my favorite flower, so bright and warm, unlike our weather lately.
And a huge simmering pot of lentil stew helped, a true comfort food for me after an icky day week.
Oh and dessert hubby also picked up for me, this might be the best ice “cream” ever!
Coconut Bliss’ Naked Coconut is just wow and reminded of the amazing coconut ice cream I had at Gracias Madre …. mmmm, I want to go back there.
Of course getting a new toy is also therapeutic which I did! I knew I’d need this Case Logic SLRC-206 Laptop Camera Bag at some point, but I’ve been putting it off. Traveling with a separate laptop bag and camera bag just didn’t seem fun, or possible for flight carry ons. And since I’m on call for work this week, I get to use it this weekend for an adventure if the weather allows it.
Thankfully this bag is not as huge as I feared, it’s smaller that hubby’s monster laptop backpack while having plenty of rigid padding and a rubberized, waterproof bottom.
It uses a neat hammock system to hold a DSLR camera that suspends the body to keep the lens from being banged around.
And has plenty of room for more lenses than I own, external flash, and other accessories.
The laptop compartment is also heavily and even overkill for my 14″ laptop. The single zipper compartment for it seems easy enough for checking through airport security, not that that’s a huge issue for me.
There are plenty of pockets for memory cards, lens caps, and cables. But the amount of pockets aren’t overkill, good for me since I tend to forget which pockets I stash stuff in.
It even has a tripod holder on the side which I’m not sure I’ll ever use.
I’m actually looking forward to testing it out and taking it on more adventures. Do you travel with a laptop and DSLR? What kind of bag do you use?

“. Traveling with a separate laptop bag and camera bag just didn’t seem fun, or possible for flight carry ons” = so true
and…
OMG i spent the last week in aruba researching this exact same thing! finding a laptop + dslr bag wasnt seeming as hard as finding what i want which is a discreet easy in/easy out bag for JUST the dslr that i can carry my camera in that doesnt scream tourist or draw ANY attn to myself or my camera. I need to be like a mouse..uber discreet and quiet. If you happened to have seen any bags like that when you were looking for yours, or any brands that seemed to keep popping up, lmk!!
